TOUR ITINERARY

City Walls : The first breach of the walls was by the Fourth Crusade in 1204, the second by the cannons and troops of Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror in 1453.
Golden Horn : As natural and extremely secure harbor, the Golden Horn has played an important role in the development of Istanbul. The inlet separates the European shore into two. It is approximately 8 km long, and the widest part is the entrance from the Bosphorus. Two streams drain into this inlet at its far end.
Cable Car & Pierre Loti Hill :Take the Cable Car to Pierre Loti Hill which was named after the famous French writer, you will enjoy magnificent scenery of Golden Horn and the city.
Bosphorus Tour on Boat : A traditional excursion by boat along the waterway seperating Europe and Asia. The shore is lined with old wooden villas, palaces of marble, fortresses, and small fishing villages. During the excursion you will pass the magnificent Dolmabahce Palace, and further along, the parks and imperial pavillions of Yildiz Palace. On the coastal edge of this park, is Ciragan Palace, 300 meters of is marble facade faces the shore. At Ortakoy a great variety of artists gather every Sunday to display their work along the street. Ortakoy is a symbol of tolerance with a church, a mosque and a synagogue existing side by side for centuries.
The Lander's Tower (from the sea, no interior visit) This is a small and attractive tower built on an islet at the entrance to the Bosphorus. It is one of the symbols of Istanbul. Used in the past as a watchtower and a lighthouse, it has been preserved in its 19th Century appearance.
The Rumeli Fortress (from the sea, no interior visit) : Istanbul had been besieged many times before Mehmet the Conqueror took the city in 1453, but it managed to defend itself with the help of Roman city walls.

Bosphorus Cruise / Morning

Spice Bazaar (Egyptian Bazaar): Built between 1597 and 1664, it is the second oldest covered bazaar in the city. You may find there mystical smells of different aromas of various spices. Shops selling fruits, vegetables, flowers, fish etc.. Rustem Pasha Mosque, Mimar Sinan built this mosque in 1560 for Rustem Pasha, son-in-law and the grand vizier of Suleiman the Magnificent. Its particular beauty lies in Iznik tiles covering it, both inside and outside.
The Rumeli Fortress : (from the sea, No interior visit) Istanbul had been besieged many times before Mehmet the Conqueror took the city in 1453, but it managed to defend itself with the help of Roman city walls.

Ottoman Relics Tour / Afternoon

Topkapi Palace: The Topkapi Palace (Topkapi Sarayi) is a large palace in Istanbul, Turkey, that was the primary residence of the Ottoman Sultans for approximately 400 years (1465-1856) of their 624-year reign. As well as a royal residence, the palace was a setting for state occasions and royal entertainments. It is now a major tourist attraction and contains important holy relics of the Muslim world, including Muhammed's cloak and sword. * Treasury and Harem sections in Topkapi Palace are not included in the program and are due to extra entry
Sultans Tombs : There are five tombs of Ottoman Sultans within the graveyard at St. Sophia. The ceramic panels are the most beautiful examples of the 16th century with purple, green, blue, and red flower motives. Prince robes and a small piece from the Kaaba covers are displayed on the sarcophaguses.

Closed :

  • Topkapi Palace is closed on Tuesday.
  • Sultans Tombs closed on Monday, replaced with Little Hagia Sophia Mosque

Byzantine Relics Tour / Morning

Hippodrome: The former center for entertainment, sports and political activities in the city during the Roman and Byzantine Empires. You will be able to see the Obelisk from Egypt, Serpentine Column from Delphi and fountain of Willhelm II.
St.Sophia: The Church of Holy Wisdom, undoubtedly one of the greatest architectural creations in the World used as a mosque during Ottomans and serving as a museum today
Blue Mosque: One of the biggest mosques of Istanbul from 17th-century architecture is one of the principal adornments on the skyline of Istanbul. Also famous for its blue tiles and 6 minarets.
Grand Bazaar: The oldest and the largest covered market place in the World with nearly 4.000 shops full of rich collections of carpets, jewelry, leather, and souvenirs.

Closed :

  • Grand Bazaar is closed on Sundays.
  • On Fridays, Little Hagia Sophia Mosque will be visited instead of Blue Mosque; due to quite limited access because of the Friday Prayer.
  • On Monday St. Sophia closed, replaced with Underground Cistern.
